Edward M. Moreash, Sr. May 14, 1941 - July 27, 2013 Plainfield - Edward M. Moreash, Sr., 72, of 267 Lake St. Moosup died early Saturday morning at his home. He was born May 14, 1941 in Groton a son of the late Fred M. and Ruth (Perlatti) Moreash and had lived in Eastern Ct for most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Moreash was a retired construction laborer. He is survived by three sons, Edward M. Moreash, Jr. of Moosup, Gene Moreash of Plainfield and Bryan Moreash of New York; one brother Harold Moreash of Ledyard; five sisters, Vera Shaw of Pawcatuck, Anna Mae Bielik of OH, Patricia Young and Gladys Mitchell both of ME, Shirley Jones of SC; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Fred Moreash. Funeral and burial are private. Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home, Plainfield has care of arrangements.

Cushing, Maine - Gladys E. "Dutchie" Mitchell, 74, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at the Sussman House in Rockport.
Born in New London, Feb. 2, 1943, she was one of 13 children of Fred and Ruth (Politti) Moreash. She attended schools in the New London area.
May 23, 1988, she married Stephen Mitchell in Stonington. A very sociable person, Dutchie loved to be in the sun and at the beach, spending time with her grandchildren. She was very talented, loved art, drawing and painting. More recently she also enjoyed doing puzzles.
Other than her parents, Dutchie was predeceased by three siblings, Eddie Moreash, Fred Moreash and Patricia Young.
Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl St., Mystic. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Elm Grove Cemetery, 197 Greenmanville Ave., Mystic.

Patricia L. Young, 70, died peacefully with her daughter at her side, following an extended period of declining health, Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Born in New London, Connecticut, February 17, 1944, she was the daughter of Fred and Ruth Politti Moreash.
On July 8, 1970, Pat married her soul-mate, Maurice B. Young in Shreveport, Louisiana. The two shared nearly 40 years of marriage before Mr. Young?s death in 2009.
After moving to Maine, the two enjoyed countless hours metal detecting and panning for gold in Byron. Pat and Maurice were members of the Mainely Street Rods Car Club, and took great joy in attending the ?cruise-ins?.
A caregiver at heart, Pat spent many years as a CNA and CRMA providing personal in-home care for many area families. Most recently she has enjoyed the many friendships she made while playing BINGO in Waldoboro.
Family was Pat?s number one priority. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, attending their sporting events, and playing with them whenever she could.
Predeceased by her husband, and two brothers, Edward Moreash, and Fred Moreash; Pat is survived by her sons, Robert S. Young, Maurice D. Young and his companion Teresa Lovejoy all of Cushing; her daughter Shirley Allen of Cushing; her grandsons, Joseph Ray of Sumter, SC, Cole and Connor Allen and Thomas Young all of Cushing; her sisters, Anna Beliek of Youngstown, OH, Vera Shaw of Providence, RI, Shirley Jones of Sumter, SC, Gladys Mitchell and her husband Stephen of Cushing, and a brother Harold Moreash of Ledgered, CT.
A graveside celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Achorn Cemetery, Rockland. Pastor Betty Bilodeau will officiate.

Fred M. Moreash of Groton passed away on March 17, 2007 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his wife of 41 years and his family.
Fred was born Feb. 18, 1947 in New London to the late Fred and Ruth Moreash of Mystic.
He married Lorraine A. Mossberg on Jam. 13, 1966 at his parents' home in Mystic.
He was employed by Pfizer from Sept. 19, 1966 to October 2001 when he retired.
Fred enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and family. He was an avid Red Sox fan and freshwater fisherman, enjoying ice fishing the most.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Fred M. Moreash of Hopkinton, R.I., and his wife Wendy; his daughters, Anita D. Moreash of Groton, Elena L. Lockett of Mystic and her husband Bryan, and Patricia A. Santiago of New London and her husband Israel; and his grandchildren, Fred and Heather Moreash, Jacqueline Lockett, and Dominic, Matrix, and Aries Santiago. In addition, Fred is survived by his seven brothers and sisters, Harold Moreash of Ledyard, Edward Moreash of Plainfield, Vera Shaw of Pawcatuck, Anna Mae Bielik of Youngstown, Ohio, Shirley Jones, of Sumpter, S.C., Gladys (Dutchie) Mitchell of Cushing, Maine, and Patricia Young of Cushing, Maine; his godson, Steven Mossberg of Lyme; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by his entire family and his dearest friends Boni and Bob McGann, Wanda Lessard, William and Ellie Santiago, Valentino Fazi, Ralph Mayo and Frank Furman.
In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by a son, Delaware Paul Moreash.
There will be no calling hours and services will be private for the family.

Born in Groton, CT, she was a daughter of Curtis Jones and Shirley Moreash Jones. She was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church and was employed as a paralegal at Shaw AFB for 33 years.
Survivors include her husband of Sumter; her parents of Sumter; a daughter, Alexandra S. Williams of Clemson; two sisters, Tangy Jones of Sumter and Tonya Fort of Sumter; three nieces, Cassy Jones, Nicolette Merifield and Nicole Campbell all of Sumter; a nephew, Curtis Ray, Jr. of Sumter; her mother-in-law, Catherine E. Williams and a brother-in-law, Steven M. Williams.
A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Clay Smith officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 107 Westpark Blvd., Suite 150, Columbia, SC 29210.
