    Notes:

HALL, (nee HODGKINSON), Lila Jean. We are sad to announce the passing of (Lila) Jean Hall on January 13, 2022 at the Tri-Lake Health Centre in Killarney, MB. Jean was born to Norval and Christina (McManus) Hodgkinson on April 13, 1926 in Long Beach, California. Jean was predeceased by her husband Melvin Hall in 2008. Jean leaves to mourn daughter Joan Hall, son Wayne (Doris) Hall, son Warren (Carolyn) Hall, son Wally (Vi) Hall and daughter Janice Hall: grandchildren Nicole (Melvin) Sholdice, Jodi (Jeff) Bishop, Tara Hamilton (Mike Lindsay), Sean May, Jason Hall, Charlene Hall (Anthony Rocheford), Carla Hall, Crista (Diego) Florez, Steven (Krissy) Hall, Catherine Hall (Dain Hurley) and Christine Hall, Lauren Hall (Troy Boucher), Vince Hall (Megan Cramer), Case and Sydney Chubbs: great-grandchildren Connor and Matthew Sholdice, Cooper, Cameron and Sage Bishop, Ethan Hamilton, Sarah, Abbey and Michael Lindsay, Liam May - Leah and Raya Hall, Lizzie and Samuel Rocheford - Dawson Hall, Lucas, Sophia and Emelia Florez, Megan and Emma Hall - Autumn Boucher. She also leaves her sister Nora Cameron, brother and sister-in-law Phil and Carole Hall and many nieces and nephews. Jean was raised and attended school in the Belmont, MB area. Jean was nine years old when her mother passed away and it must have been hard for Jean and her sister. Jean helped her Dad with the farm chores but still had fun with friends and going to dances with her sister. They didn't have electricity or plumbing and she said the town of Belmont didn't get electricity until 1936. Jean and Melvin were married in 1945 and they lived and farmed in the Belmont area throughout their married life and in 1965 they purchased Pleasant Valley and together they developed Pleasant Valley Golf Course into a thriving, beautiful 18 hole golf course. Jean loved the valley and all the wonderful friends she made there. Jean was a determined and hard worker her entire life and enjoyed raising her family and creating wonderful memories with them. She took great joy in going for a drive around the countryside, checking the crops and taking in the scenery. She had an amazing memory and seemed to know everyone. We would listen to her stories of neighbours and their history and she spoke so fondly of the years past. There was very little that she enjoyed more than neighbours and friends stopping in to visit and having a cup of coffee and muffin. Until she started going south for the winter Jean was an avid curler and brought home many team trophies. Jean and Mel spent 40 plus wonderful years wintering in Mesa, Arizona and she continued going south after Mel passed away. The winter of 2018/2019 was her last year going to Mesa and she was sad that part of her life was over. She made so many great friends and had so many great memories of her winters there. She enjoyed golfing and golfed well into her 80s and could, quite honestly, still give most people a run for their money! Over the years they travelled extensively to many parts of the world and Jean enjoyed the adventures. Jean moved into Lakeview Villas in Killarney, MB in 2019 and liked getting to know the staff and other residents. She very much enjoyed her years there. Jean loved her home, her town, and the people around her. She was a pioneer and an integral piece of the Belmont landscape. She will be greatly missed. Memorial donations can be made in Jean's memory to the Baldur Health Centre, Box 128, Baldur, MB R0K 0B0 or to the Glenboro Health Centre, Box 310, Glenboro, MB R0K 0X0.

Also, we wish to thank the wonderful staff at the Tri-Lake Health Centre that showed her Love and Compassion during her stay in the Hospital. Thank you to Jamieson's Funeral Service of Glenboro, MB for making the arrangements. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Summer 2022. Details to follow.
