    Suddenly at his home, Fairview Manor, Almonte, Ontario on Monday, February 10, 2014 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor Amm. Loving father of Wayne and his wife Brenda. Dear brother of Gary (Eunice), Helen (late Glenn) James, John (Marsha), Jean (Murray) Smith, Doug (Nedda). Survived by many nieces, nephews, greatnieces and great-nephews. Mervyn is predeceased by his parents Gilbert and Margaret (Foster), by brothers Alex, Bert, Jimmy Munro and by sisters Beatrice Desarmia, Vera Church, Flossie Houston, Shirley Drynan and Muriel Stuart. A private family service will be held at the Almonte Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte.     DEPRESSED YOUNG MAN DIES BY OWN HAND - (2 Oct 1958)

    Alex Munro, Euphemia Street was found dead outside his home on Thursday evening, October 2. His body was discovered by his wife, Doris after she heard a shot. A .35 caliber rifle was found beside him. Constable Keith Crockford, O.P.P. investigated and Coroner A. A. Metcalfe said no inquest would be held. Mr. Munro, who was 27 years age, was believed to have been depressed over losing his driver's license. He had appeared in District Magistrate's Court that morning when he was fined $100 and had his driver's license suspended for impaired driving. He worked as a Carpenter in Ottawa and drove his car to the city each day. Born in Clayton district, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Munro who survive. He was educated in the local school at Clayton and attended the United Church. He leaves his wife, the, former, Doris Raycroft of Darling Township; six children, Carmel, seven; Keith, six; Clark, five; Ann, four; David, two; and Sharon, eight months. Also surviving are seven sisters, Mrs. Wm. Church, Nova Scotia; Mrs. Donald Houston, Mrs. Orval Drynan, Miss Beatrice, all of Almonte and the Misses Helen, Muriel and Jean of Clayton; six brothers, Mervyn of Almonte; twins, Jackie and Jim, Douglas, Garry and Bert, all of Clayton. The funeral was held from the Comba Funeral Home on Sunday, October 5th and was largely attended. Rev. J. Ray Anderson officiated and interment was in the United Cemetery, Clayton. The pallbearers were: Gordon Stewart, Jim Campbell, Basil Munro, Orval Drynan, Leonard Barr and Clarence Raycroft.

    Shirley Louise Drynan died peacefully Sept. 21 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. She was 59. She was born Shirley Louise Munro to Gilbert G. Munro and Margaret E. Foster on Sept. 16, 1934, at their family home in Darling Township. She was a life-long resident of the Almonte area and attended school at S.S. #3 Darling Public and Almonte and District High Schools. She was employed for 20 years at the Almonte Flour Mill, until its closure in 1985. Previous to this she was employed at the Rosamond Memorial Hospital, Almonte and the Rosamond Woollen Mill, Almonte. Shirley Drynan was a proud and loyal member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 240 Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid worker/volunteer at the many functions of the Branch 240 Ladies Auxiliary and was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary Color Party. She thoroughly enjoyed being a member of and participating in various Legion sports activities (cribbage, euchre, horseshoes and her all-time favorite, darts). She was proud to have hosted the annual lawn darts tournament for the last number of years. Always with a quiet smile, she was a friend to many and those who loved her, miss her dearly. She is survived by and is the beloved mother of Deborah (Doug), Dianna, Donald (Ann), Darlene (Larry), Donna and Wanda (Jeff). Dearly loved Nanny of 10 grandchildren. Also survived by her mother, Margaret Munro and her sisters and brothers Beatrice, Mervyn, Vera, Bert, Gary, Helen, Jackie, Jean and Doug. Predeceased by her father, Gilbert Munro, and by two sisters; Flossie Houston and Muriel Stuart and by two brothers; James and Alex. Also survived by her friend and former husband, Orville. Rev. Ted Colwell led the funeral service at the Gamble Funeral Home and Chapel on Friday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. The Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch, 240 Honor Guard was present and the Ottawa Police Force provided a motorcycle escort to the Auld Kirk Cemetery for burial. Pallbearers were Don Johnson, Terry Warren, Todd Munro, Carl Smith, Kevin James and Wayne Munro.

    It is with profound and overwhelming sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Rodney Bolger. Rodney was a kind-hearted man; a loving son to Carmel Beck (Gary), and Brian Bolger (Janet). Cherished brother to Joanne Lindsay (Rickie), and Doug Mahon. Rodney will be deeply missed by his nieces Carlee, Jayna and Ericka. A dear nephew to Judy Robertson & Connie Allison. Rodney aka ?Rod/Roddy? had many friends who surrounded him like family while living out in Alberta.     Rodney grew up in Clayton, Ontario but later called Alberta his home for 28 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and snowmobile, but most of all he loved being surrounded by his friends and family at any moment.
    Having a passion for the pipeline industry, Rodney was a highly proficient heavy equipment operator. He proudly operated his own business, ?R.B. Pipelines LTD? and worked alongside his coworkers at Triple J Pipelines Inc. in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
    Rodney will be laid to rest in his hometown of Clayton, Ontario, alongside his warmhearted grandparents Howard & Valma Bolger, who predeceased him. Finally, he'll return home.

    It is with great sadness and an emptiness in our hearts that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of Mark at home Saturday Feb 12, 2022 at the age of 46.
    Left to mourn this sad loss are his beloved girls Kayleigh Morgan and Kelseigh Marie. Mark was the loving son of Dan and Sharon. Dear brother of Lianne (Tim Healey) and special uncle of Amylia Jordyn, Graydon Blake and Victorya Lynne. Dear grandson of Theresa Coady (late Anthony) and Doris Munro. Cherished special friend of Leigh Spoor and her children Sierra and Savannah. He will be missed by a very large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Mark enjoyed life and cherished the time he spent with his family, especially with his girls Kayleigh and Kelseigh. He had a deep love for square body trucks; camo just about anything; the construction industry; cruising down back roads; country music and especially snowmobiling. A lifetime hunting and outdoor enthusiast, Mark could often be found spending time at the Coady cabin enjoying skidoo rides with all the kids in tow; chats by the bonfire or tinkering in his dad?s shop. Mark was never far from home where his roots and values ran deep. He was nothing short of a hardworking, dedicated man. Mark will truly be missed by all who knew him including his loyal black lab companion Hank. Mark?s final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. A Tribute to Mark will be webcast live from the Pilon Family Chapel on Sunday afternoon, February 20th at 4 o?clock. A private Funeral Mass will take place in Holy Name of Mary Church, Almonte on Monday, February 21. Spring interment St. Peter Celestine Parish Cemetery, Indian Hill Road, Pakenham.
