PARRY, GEORGE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Everton Parry on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, peacefully at the Belleville General Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born in Toronto on August 28, 1922, son of the late Lambert Everton and Jessie Alice Parry. He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years Audrey Parry, sons Richard (Heather) and Craig (Donna), grandchildren Andrew, Dylan (Beth) and Jenny (Chris) and great-grandchildren Sam and Olivia. George was a veteran of WWII, Royal Canadian Navy volunteer and saw action in North Africa, Sicily and on D-Day at Juno Beach on landing craft LCL-125. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, Burma Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, the Canadian Service Medal with Clasp, the War Medal 1939-45 and on October 20, 2017 he received the Legion of Honour from The Republic of France in gratitude for his services in liberating France during WWII. The founder of Bi-Temp Limited Heating and Air Conditioning in 1968, which is still in business 50 years later. A former member of the Belleville Sales and Ad Club, Quinte Homebuilders, Quinte Construction Association and the MG Car Club of Toronto. An avid fisherman, golfer, skier, automobile ice racing competitor and winner, sports car enthusiast and participant in the Canadian Winter Rally and Past President and lifetime member of MAAC, representing Canada twice in the 1960's in world competitions in both England and Germany. A man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. In keeping with George's wishes, cremation will take place and a private family remembrance will take place at a later date. George often expressed his gratitude of the Salvation Army for their support of the troops during WWII, therefore, if desired a memorial donation to that organization would be appreciated.
