James L. Willcox, 80, of Las Vegas, passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, in Las Vegas. He was born April 8, 1929, in Reno, to Thomas and Gertrude Willcox.
James was a retired meteorologist. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War. James' greatest passion in life was photography.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Willcox; sister, Jane Graves; and niece, Janie Graves.
James is survived by his daughter, Julia Surina (Frank) of Las Vegas; sons, James L. Willcox II of Las Vegas, and Bryan Willcox (Marisa) of North Las Vegas; grandchildren, Tiffany, Victoria, Joshua, Kiara, Jordan, Cameron, Kendal and Brandon; and nephews, Madison, Holly and Buzz Graves.
A funeral service will be at noon Friday, Oct. 2, at Christ Church Episcopal, 2100 S. Maryland Parkway, in Las Vegas. James will be interred at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
