- Frank passed away at his home 702 East State St., in the City of Olean after a long illness. He came to Olean in 1893 and was long identified with area civic affairs. He was the secretary and treasurer of the Producers Gas Co. He had served on the Olean Board of education and represented the eleventh ward as alderman. He had also served on the Board of Trustees of the Olean Public Library. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and Olean Lodge, No. 252 Free and Accepted Mason's. At the time of his deth he was survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie (Rockwell) Herron; One daughter, Mrs. G.D. Lewis of Dunkirk, NY; Three sons, Donald W. Herron of Olean, Selden C. Herron of Long Beach, CA and Robert F. Herron of Solvay, NY: One Brother, Dana R. Herron of Olean and two grandchildren. The funeral was held at the Halwig Funeral Home in Olean on April 3, 1940.
