St John's Children's Home, Ipswich, Suffolk
An eight-bedroom hotel, the Freehold Tavern on the corner of Bloomfield Street and Freehold Road opened in 1860. The venture failed and in 1869 it became the St John's Children's Home. The property, later known as Freelands, was demolished in the 1970's and replaced with a housing estate.
