Agnes Jane Byers
A native of Nipissing Twp., and resident of Callander, Agnes Jane Byers of RR 1 Callander, died Saturday as the result of an automobile accident on Wasi Road. She was 73.
The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Paul Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Nipissing Cemetery.
Friends may pay their respects at the Paul Funeral Home after 2 p.m. today.
Born Nov. 13, 1905 in Nipissing Twp., Mrs. Byers was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph McConnell of Hotham, Ont.
On June 3, 1925, she married Levi Byers in Hotham.
She is survived by her husband, three sons; Wilburn of Callander, Samuel of Dunnville, Thomas of Chatham; seven daughters: Mrs. Eric Hazelwood (Violet) of Powassan, Mrs. Hector Bayliss (Greta) of Hamilton, Mrs. Clarence Hazelwood (Gwen) of Renfrew, Mrs. Norman Trainer (Marjorie) of Port Sydney, Mrs. Tom Masson (Gladys) of Callander, Wilda Byers of New Brunswick and Evelyn Byers of Toronto. She was predeceased by one son, Andy.
Also surviving are two brothers: Truman McConnell of Barrie, and Manson McConnell of Callander, and six sisters: Mrs. Jim Duggan (Queenie) of Gravenhurst, Mrs. Everett Grawbarger (Eva) of Powassan, Mrs. Alex Byers (Mabel) of Callander, Mrs. Kitchener Grawbarger (Susan) of South River, Mrs. Victor Grawbarger (Mary) of Capreol and Mrs. Norman Fryer (Gertie) of North Bay.
Mrs. Byers is also survived by 29 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
