John McLain
John R McLain was born Tuesday 03 Aug 1926 in Mancelona to the Pearl & Elena (Baker) McLain. He married Bessie Marguerite 'Peggy' Richards Sunday 03 Oct 1948 in Cadillac. She preceded him in death 02 Apr 2010. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Prior to his retirement he had been employed as the service manager of the Traverse City Buick dealership. He loved being outdoors hunting and fishing with his family and friends.
John R McLain of Traverse City died Thursday 17 Jul 2014 at the age of 87 y 11 m 14 d at Tendercare Traverse City. Survivors included 2 sons, Robert McLain of Traverse City, and Doug & Kris McLain of North Creek, New York; 1 daughter, Beverly & Mike Ferguson of Lake Ann; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 brother; and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by 1 infant son, David.
Visitation was 4-7 pm Tuesday 22 Jul 2014 and Wednesday 10 am until the time of the service, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services were 11 am Wednesday 23 Jul 2014 at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with Rev Jose H Lopez officiating.
Burial was to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City.
Memorial contributions were to be directed to the Presbyterian Church at 701 Westminster Road in Traverse City, MI 49686.
