W. G. Bailey Found Dead
A young salesman was found dead yesterday in his car at the garage of his Minoa home. The Sheriff's Department said the death was apparent suicide.
William G. Bailey, 25, of 300 Hulbert St., was pronounced dead by a physician who was called to the home. The coroner's office said Bailey's wife, Marilyn, found him in the front seat of the car at about 10:45 a.m. The ignition switch was on and the gas tank was empty.
Bailey was an automobile salesman. Coroner Harry L. Gilmore withheld a verdict pending further investigation.
Services are in charge of the Goddard & Crandall Funeral Home.
Mr. Bailey worked for Bender Ford and prior to that was a debit agent for the John Hancock Life Insurance Co. He was a graduate of Eastwood High School. He served with the Navy from 1955 to 1959 and was stationed with the Navy Security Group in Japan.
He was a member of Onondaga Lodge 802, F&AM. He attended Eastwood Baptist Church. He was a majority member of DeMolay.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Elizabeth Ann and Carolyn Ann, and his mother, Mrs. Kenneth F. Cole.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Goddard & Crandall Funeral Home, 3111 James St., the Rev. William Langston and the Rev. Dr. Alfred Boutwell officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
