Viola Doyle
Viola M. Doyle, age 100, of 11 Ramsdell St., Groton, died Sunday morning, Jan. 29, 2006 at her residence.She was born in Groton on July 31, 1905 the daughter of James J. and Lucy R. Phelps Doyle.Viola had worked for the former Granns Apparel Store in New London and also in the nursery at the Holiday Bowl in Groton.She was a member of the Groton Heights Baptist Church and the Groton Senior Citizens.Viola is survived by a daughter, Ann M. Stanton, of Groton; and three sisters, Lucy E. Doyle, Dorothy Weinberg and Isabell Adams, all of Groton.She was predeceased by two brothers, Frederick J. Doyle and Howard R. Doyle; as well as two sisters, Alice Teuton and Elsie Noyce.A memorial service will be held on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at the Groton Heights Baptist Church, 72 Broad St., Groton. Interment in Starr Cemetery will be private. There are no visiting hours.Donations in her memory may be directed to the Lyle Lackey Memorial Fund, c/o Groton Heights Baptist Church or the VNA of SE Ct., 403 N.
