BYERS, John Alexander (Alex) - At North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site, on Sunday, August 13, 1995 in his 94th year. Alex Byers, beloved husband of Mabel Viola (McConnell), Powassan. Loving father of Hilda (husband Eugene Hersemeyer), Lawrence (wife Lila), Maurice (wife Shirley) and Lyle (wife Eunice), all of Callander; Mervin (wife Ruth), Mattawa; Vivian (husband Ranald McKee), Thornloe; Margaret (husband Dan Watson), Richmond, Virginia; Thelma Byers, North Bay; Victor, North Bay. Dear brother of Gordon (wife Winnie), Powassan; Irvin (wife Hilda), Callander; Esther (husband Bert Johnson), Callander; Frances Radkey, Cambridge. Predeceased by his brothers Bill, Levi and Enos Byers and sisters Mary Turcotte and Eliza Grawbarger. Loving grandfather of 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan (705)724-2024 on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment Nipissing Cemetery.
