Gertie King

Mrs. George King
POWASSAN - A native of Commanda, Mrs. George King of Sudbury died in hospital Saturday at the age of 69. She had suffered a lengthy illness.
Friends may pay their respects at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, and the funeral service will be conducted by Rev. George Elliott at the chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the Nipissing Cemetery.
Gertrude King was born June 6, 1905, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Yerkie. She resided in Commanda and Nipissing Village before going to reside in Sudbury.
Mrs. King was married on Nov. 24, 1926 at Powassan.
Surviving Mrs. King are her husband; six sons, Clifford of Blind River, and Floyd, James, Lloyd, Eddie, and Richard, all of Sudbury; three daughters: Mrs. Lawrence Cashmore (Kay), Mrs. Cecil Tremblay (Mary), and Mrs. Stan Sprague (May), all of Sudbury, 29 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Henry Bastien of Toronto, Zelphie Bastien, South River, and Mrs. William King (Leada) of Nipissing.
