George Quick

QUICK
The body of George Wesley Quick, age 67, of Richmond, and formerly Staunton, was found Wednesday in Chesterfield County. He had been missing since October 26, 1984. Mr. Quick was graduated from McKinley High School, Washington, D.C. and later attended Virginia Commonwealth University. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. For a number of years he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Staunton, and upon retirement moved to Richmond, where he was employed part time as an interior decorator with the J.C. Penney Co. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Staunton. Surviving are a son, Allen W. Quick and a granddaughter, Deborah Lynn Quick, both of Staunton; a close friend, Katherine Armstrong Quick of Staunton; two sisters, Esther Quick Candage of Scotia, N. Y. and Ruth Quick Dinan of Florence, Arz.; one niece, Jean Mason Outhout of Westfield, Vermont; one nephew, Ralph Mason of Scotia, N.Y. A Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Hamrick Funeral Home, Staunton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Virginia Lung Association, P.O. Box 25177, Richmond, Va. 23260 or to a favorite charity.
