Risė Berard
Risė "Skeet" Evelyn (Smith) Berard, age 73, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, with family by her side.
Born in Monkton, VT on December 27th, 1949, to Rolon and Hazle Smith. Skeet married Allan Berard on May 2nd, 1973, and they were blessed with four children: Risė, Chantel, David and Allana.
Skeet was an avid reader, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. Her other hobbies included playing bingo, playing pool, drawing, and crocheting. She also loved watching crime shows, game shows and spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be remembered by her family and friends as an exceptional woman. A strong-willed, independent force to be reckoned with. She was courageous, tenacious, and adventurous. She had an unforgettable sense of humor and was fluent in sarcasm. Skeet had a big heart and accepted everyone for who they were.
She is survived by her ex-husband and close friend, Allan Marcell Berard; Daughter Risė Allyn (Berard) Deuso and husband Steven Deuso; Daughter Chantel Alón Berard; Son David Allan Joseph Berard and partner Lexi Riell; Daughter Allana Megan Berard and partner Bryan Harrington; Granddaughter Tanya Lynn (Berard) Daubert and husband Andrew Daubert; Granddaughter Cheyenne Alon Berard; Grandsons Damien Wesley Cota and Riley Clark Harrington and Granddaughter Kaia Raven Riell; Great Grandsons Hunter Bryant Daubert and Archer Jeffrey James Daubert. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to two incredibly special people in her life, Shawna Carminati and Kasey Morris for caring for our mother. We are eternally grateful for your kindness and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her father Rolon Earl Smith, mother Hazle Ruth (Knight) Smith, brothers Rolon "Skip" Eli Smith and Rikki Emory Smith along with many special aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Her Bravery, resilience, and strong will to live helped her defy the odds despite many challenges.
Visiting hours will be Friday, November 3rd from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, Winooski, VT. In honor of her wishes, a non-denominational funeral will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. November 4th at LaVigne Funeral Home, after cremation services. A celebration of life will be held in her honor following the funeral service in the community hall at 275 Northgate Road, Burlington, VT 05408. All are welcome to attend to share stories, memories, and laughter.
