Heman H. Stevens Sr.
HEMAN H. STEVENS SR. HUNTINGTON Heman H. Stevens Sr., 81, died Saturday, March 28, 1987, at the Burlington Convalescent Center after a short illness.
He was born in Huntington, June 2, 1905, the son of Monroe and Eina (Gillette) Stevens. He lived in Huntington most of his life, where he operated a farm for many years. He served as town constable and tax collector for several terms. He was a member of the Eastern Milk Producers Association for many years. He married Walton in 1927. She predeceased 1977.
He leaves three daughters, Mrs. Dortha Blish and Mrs. Paul (Rita) Bradley, both of Huntington, and Mrs. Clinton (Geraldine) Hallock of Essex Junction; five sons, Heman Jr. of Florence, Mass., Donald of Huntington, Harold of Hardwick, George of Essex Junction and Roger of Richmond; a sister, Nellie Lacillade of Huntington; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Gifford Funeral Home in Richmond with hours from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 In visiting, lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Richmond Rescue Squad, Box 404, Richmond 05477, or the Burlington Convalescent Center, 300 Pearl St., Burlington 05401. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Huntington.
