Divers continue search for body
BONFIELD (Staff) — Ontario Provincial Police divers have still not found the body of a 34-year-old angler who collapsed and fell overboard from a small boat Wednesday night.
Divers were on Lake Nosbonsing again Friday searching for Calvin Rich, 34, who was fishing with a friend at about 7:50 pm Wednesday when the incident occurred.
Rich’s friend in the boat tried to find the victim for some time after he fell overboard but there was no sign of him in the water, police were told.
The water is 14 to 22 feet deep in the section of the lake where the man fell in, about half a kilometre from shore near Daytonia Lodge.
The two men were fishing in a 14-foot aluminum boat when the mishap occurred.
Police divers and the marine unit were called in from Orillia to search for the missing man.
