Mrs. D. G. Byers
CALLANDER - Mrs. Duncan G. Byers, who made her home at Callander shortly after her marriage 51 years ago, died Saturday in hospital at North Bay following a brief illness. She was 70.
Friends may pay their respects at the Thompson-Rath-Pannabecker Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. by Capt. G. Patrick of the Salvation Army. Interment will be at Nipissing Cemetery.
Margaret Watson Byers was born in Renfrew County July 2, 1901, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Hamilton. marriage to Duncan G. Byers took place at Renfrew Sept. 1, 1920.
A former resident of Renfrew and Douglas, Mrs. Byers resided for 40 years at Light House Beach, where her husband was a professional guide. She attended the Presbyterian Church.
Predeceased by her husband and a son, Rodney, Mrs. is survived by a James, R.R. 1, Callander; seven daughters: Alex Rennette (Irene), St. Catharines; Mrs. C. Liberty (Elda), Mrs. G. Simms (Ruth), Miss Edaleen Byers, all of North Bay; Mrs. A. McWilliams (Edna), Feronia; Mrs. E. Drover (Eva), North Bay and Mrs. William Johnson (Sylvia), Corbeil; 36 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers: Stewart of Franksville, Ontario, and Andrew, Victoria, B.C., and a sister, Mrs. Katherine Crogie, Renfrew.
