Death Of Mrs. T. McKay
DEATH OF MRS. T. McKAY
The death of Mrs. Thomas McKay, at Middleville, Lanark township, marks the passing of an old and respected resident of that district. Deceased was born in the township of Darling on January 14th, 1845, the daughter of John Rintoul and his wife Margaret McGee. She was married in November. 1868, to Thomas McKay, who survives her in her 84th year, and their family consisted of five sons and four daughters, namely, John of Arnprior; Alex. and Thomas of Sinclair, Man.; Charles and Willard of Lanark township; Mrs. Wm. Mealy of Minto, Man.; Mrs. John Robertson, of Ewart, Man.; Mrs. James M. Rodgers, Almonte; Mrs. John R. Reid, Ramsay township; all of whom are survivors.
The funeral services were held in the home on Monday, Rev. James A. Plant conducting the service, and the funeral cortege then wended its way to the Cayton cemetery where the body was interred. Her five sons and John R. Reid acted as pallbearers.
Friends from a distance who attended were: Mr. Alex. McKay and Mr. Thos. McKay, Sinclair, Man.; Mr. and Mrs. John McKay and Miss Olive, of Arnprior; Mr. and Mrs. Dan McKay and Mr. Geo. McKay of Arnprior; Mrs. Robertson, Ottawa; Mrs. Harper, Chesterville; Mrs. Jessie Rintoul and son Alva of Carleton Place; Mrs. Margaret Schouler, Almonte; Mr. Nelson McKay, Pakenham; Mr. Ross Craig and Mrs. Symington, Almonte; Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Reid, Almonte.
