CHARLES DONALD STEWART
February 11, 1930 - January 4, 2008
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Charlie at home. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Irene; daughter Shirley, grandchildren Vanessa and Cameron; son Don his wife Heather, grandchildren Jeffrey and Grace and daughter Lorraine. He was predeceased by his father Dan, mother Evelyn, sister Donalda and brother-in-law John Quinsey and his father-in-law Cecil McKay. Surviving are numerous nieces nephews and lifelong friends. Charlie started his education at Phipps School in Lilyfield, Manitoba and finished at Gordon Bell High School in Winnipeg. He began farming in his mid teens with his parents, a life he truly loved. Charlie belonged to many community organizations. He was treasurer of Lilyfield Church for many years. He was past Noble Grand of Stonewall Odd Fellows Lodge No. 49 and Worshipful Master of Stonewall Masonic Lodge No. 12. Charlie enjoyed curling for many years and loved to travel. By far his greatest joy in life came from his family. He was a devoted husband, dad and papa. He was a loving wise and gentle soul whose kindness was a tribute to the human spirit. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 11 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall, MB with interment to follow at Lilyfield Cemetery. Pallbearers are Cameron Stewart, Jeffrey Stewart, Bill Corbett, Brock Corbett, Brett Corbett and Justin Rosing. Masonic Service will be included regalla is appropriate.
