John R. Pugh

JOHN R. PUGH
John R. Pugh, son of Reese and Winnie Pugh, was born at Racine, Wis., July 1, 1859. He moved with his parents to a farm near Huntley, Ill., and in 1867, his parents bought the farm south of Woodstock, where he grew to manhood.
He was married to Miss Bertha Wright of Woodstock Feb. 8, 1893, and this union was blessed with three children, one son, Earl of. Rockford; Ethel (Mrs. Robt. Zimmerman) of Topeka, Kans., and Helen (Mrs. Lyle Yeakel) of Rockford, and five grandchildren.
He lived in and near Woodstock for several years, later moving to Wyocena, Wis. He passed away Monday, July 13, 1936, at Madison, Wis. He is survived by his 3 children, 5 grand children and four brothers, Henry E., Frank, George, and Edwin all of Woodstock.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 16, afternoon with Rev. A. A. Bauman officiating and he was laid to rest in the family plot in Oakland cemetery..
