ST. JACOBS - Mrs. Jacob Sittler of St. Jacobs died Sunday at K-W Hospital, Kitchener, after a lengthy illness. She was 67.
The former Lydia Spencer, Mrs. Sittler was born at Whitechurch, near Lucknow, and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Spencer. She had lived in St. Jacobs for the past 45 years and was a member of Calvary United Church, St. Jacobs.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Charles of Kitchener, Kenneth of St. Jacobs, and Joseph of Camp Shilo, Man.; seven daughters, Anne of Toronto, Mrs. Allan (Ruby) Madgett and Mrs. Donald (Joan) Blum, both of Kitchener, Mrs. Jerome (Mary) Bergman of Heidelberg, Mrs. Donald (Lorraine) Batley of Peterborough, Mrs. Mahlon (Joy) Snyder of St. Jacobs and Mrs. Elmer (Clementine) Hill of RR 1, Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Jewitt of Lackoow and Mrs. Joseph (Augusta) Everett of St. Jacobs; 33 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sons, Thomas and John and by two brothers and one sister.
The body will be at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, Waterloo, until Wednesday noon when removal will be made to Calvary Church, St. Jacobs, for service at 2 p.m. Rev. George Sim will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary United cemetery.
