HILL, Elmer
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Barnswallow Place, Elmira on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Clementine (Clemy Sittler, 2009). Loving father of Ruth Ann (Larry) Hammond, Sandy Sim, and Brenda (Steve) Straus. Cherished grandpa of Tracy (Rick) Bode, Todd (Jen) Hammond, Heather Sim (Matt Walsh), Helen (Doug) Schlueter, and Pete and Andy Straus. Fun loving great-grandpa (Papa) to Kirsten, Mia, Jake and Devon Bode; Matthew and Gavin Hammond; Lyla Straus; Dylan and Zachary Schlueter. Lovingly remembered by sisters Mary Cassolato, Shirley Innocente and Doris Hoffman, and his cousin Ron Hill. Predeceased by his son-in-law Geordie Sim, parents Vernon and Margaret (Noble) Hill, brother John (Jack) Hill, and sister Marjorie Craig. Elmer and Clemy were residents of St. Jacobs for 60 years. They loved to walk the trails, work in the garden and their family trips to Florida. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Calvary United Church, 48 Hawkesville Road, St. Jacobs from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Calvary United Cemetery. In Elmer's memory, donations to Calvary United Church, St. Jacobs would be e appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
