Dorothy Coulter

Dorothy Jean Coulter passed away peacefully at Vernon Hospice House on Monday, November 5, 2007. She was 82 years young. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her two sons Bryan (Mickey) of Langley, BC and Scott (Christina) of Ladysmith, BC; her daughter Bonnie (Willie) of Armstrong; six grandchildren Michael (Kim), Shilo, Tyler, Danny (Buffy), Nikki (Shawn), and Amanda; two great grandsons Cohen and Mason; two brothers Bud (Betty) Webb of Lake Erock, BC and Russell (Sherrie) Webb of Richmond, BC; and extended family. Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband Chester in 1961, daughter Judy in 1963, and both parents. Born and raised in Ontario, Dorothy & Chester worked their way west and in 1954 ended up in BC. In 1974 she moved to Armstrong. Dorothy became very active in her new community. She was a well known realtor, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Citizen of the Year in 1999, enjoyed politics and travel to warmer climates. Dorothy was an avid gardener and belonged to the Armstrong Garden Club. She loved painting on different media and flooded her home with photographs. Dorothy will be remembered as a good neighbour and friend having touched many in her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Dorothy at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Hall in Armstrong on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Vernon & District Hospice House, 3506-27th Ave., Vernon, BC, V1T 1S4.
